The AspectJ and AspectWerkz project have agreed to work together as a team, using their complementary strength and technology to create a unified AOP platform.
The first release of their cooperation will be AspectJ 5: Extend the AspectJ language to support an ANNOTATION development style and support similar as ASPECTJ code style. AspectJ 5 also provides full AOP support for Java 5 language features.
