God, there is such a good thing in the world? This doesn't mean those friends who are unable to upgrade for the dog can also be easily used on Windows XP, which means we can use the 3-inch small CD that is easy to carry to install Windows XP? !
We are all installed Windows XP through the default installation. But do you know that even a component comes from the system, there are many things that we haven't used in our lifetime. These things that are not really hard to us will occupy a lot of hard disk space and system resources, which causes waste. Therefore, experienced users will uninstall the components that are unloaded after the installation is completed, and the system burden is reduced.
However, for the enthusiasts who like the trial software, it is inevitable that frequent reloading systems. This means that enthusiasts may often have a "slimming" operation after installed the system, very troublesome.
Therefore, the enthusiasts came up with a good way to solve the trouble - to install the disc slim in the system through the NLite tool, and remove the components that are not needed before the system installation. In this way, the new system installed is directly the most simplified high efficiency version.
NLITE is a special tool for adjusting Windows installation CD, set SlipStreame, custom, compression, and ISO creation functions, suitable for "slimming" for all versions of Windows XP installer, support SP2, and can be used to customize Windows 2000/2003 operations system. In the Sky Software Station, we can also find its Chinese patch.
Tip: Because NLite is written in C # (. Net), the user's computer must be installed .NET Framework can guarantee operation. The latest .NET Framework v1.1 download address is http://download/7/b/9/7b90644d-1af0-42b9-b76d-a2770319a568/dotNetfx.exe, the software size is 23.1MB.
Slimming process
Through NLITE, create a simplified version of Windows XP installation disc for SP2, as long as 8 steps.
Step 1: Run NLITE, select the language in the Wizard window, here offers a variety of language versions, default English, we select "Simplified Chinese" to switch the main interface to the Simplified Chinese Interface in "Language". Click the "Forward" button to continue the next step.
Step 2: Select the task you want to perform in the Open "Task Selection" window, including Service Pack integration, unattended installation, drive integration, component removal, can guide ISO mirroring. The item here is required with service pack integration, component removal, can boot ISO image. Click the "Forward" button to continue the next step.
Step 3: Create a new folder in the hard disk (such as E: WinXPSP2) to store files for the new installation disc. Then insert a Windows XP installation disc in the CD-ROM, click the "Browse" button to select the location of the Windows XP installation disc (Fig. 1).
Selecting the folder then specifies the location where the Windows installation file is located to the newly created folder. After the selection is complete, the program will make the corresponding file copy, copy all files in the Windows XP installation CD to the folder. After the replication is completed, the scan is also scanned, the result is 524MB size. Click the "Forward" button to continue the next step. Tip: After integrated SP2, we can find that the WinXPSP2 folder compared to the contents of the Windows XP installation CD, adds the CMPNENTS folder, Win51IP.SP2, and setupxp.htm files. Step 4: Click the "Select" to specify the location where the SP2 installation file is located, such as G: DownWindowsXP-KB835935-SP2-CHS.exe. The software will then take a while to extract the files in the SP2 package into E: WinXPSP2, and the volume of the folder becomes 628MB.
Step 5: Select the components you want to delete from the installation CD in the next window. Here, various applications, drivers, Internet tools, multimedia, language support, etc. To delete Windows Messenger, MSN Explorer components, you can expand the Internet tool, select these two items (Figure 2).

If you don't know which components can be deleted, there is no relationship, we will explain in detail later. Step 6: In order to meet certain special needs, you can manually specify an additional or delete file, such as Msconfig.exe, Scrnsave.SCR, etc., in the following window. Click the "Forward" button to continue.
Step 7: The following will extract the CAB compression package, remove the components, delete files, and compress the CAB compression package. The process takes a long time, everyone is waiting patiently. The file size and how much it is displayed after completion. During the author's experiment, the size of this installation disc is reduced to 580MB. I have even seen a friend to make a size of less than 200MB installation disks, and the installed system can run smoothly on a very low-configuration old machine.
Step 8: According to the prompt, the adjusted file is created into ISO, and the burning software such as Nero Burning Rom is recorded into a disc, so that a "slimming" Windows XP SP2 installation disk is released. Removable components in Windows XP SP2
